Rotary Youth Exchange: Our 2005-2007 In Bound Students
Our In Bound Youth Exchange Student for the 2006-2007 year is Adrian from Argentina. We are very excited to have him join us for the year and hope he comes to enjoy Cannon Falls very much!
Adrian comes to us from San Juan, which is northwest of Buenos Aires. It is a much larger community than Cannon Falls, with over 600,000 residents.

Adrian enjoys sports, such as kung fu, rugby and swimming. He also trains dogs in his spare time. He has taken some of the money he has made training dogs and invested it in the stock market.

Adrian's father is a professor of geology at the University and is the department chair. His mother teaches music in the San Juan school system. Below is a picture of Adrian's family ... he is the youngest of four children.

We hope that Adrian will have the opportunity to set up a blog while he is here so he can share his experiences over the year with his friends and family.
2005 - 2006
Last year, we were fortunate to have two in-bound students. Our first is Olivia and she is from South Africa. Our second is Jin-Aeng from South Korea.
Olivia from South Africa
Since they are in the southern hemisphere), she joined us in January 2005 and will remain with us until early 2006.

Olivia is typical of many of our youth exchange participants, in that she is experiencing many new "firsts" during her stay here.

For example, Olivia had never really experienced cold like a Minnesota winter! Imagine boarding a plane in the hot summer only to debark in the middle of winter!

At one of the first club meetings Oliva attended, she informed us that during her flight here she experienced a 120 degree change in temperature!
Olivia Spoke About Her native Country, South Africa on June 14th, 2005
Olivia gave her presentation about her native homeland, South Africa to the Cannon Falls Rotary Club and our guests on Tuesday evening, June 14th at the Cannon River Winery in downtown Cannon Falls.

During her presentation, Olivia shared some of the highlights about her country, her community, and her family.

Jin-Aeng from South Korea
Our second in-bound exchange student just joined us in August 2005 from South Korea. Jin-Aeng, who also goes by Jin, will be with us until July of 2006.

Later in the year, when she has had the opportunity to learn the language and experience those things that are uniquely "American," she will give a presentation to the club to help us learn more about South Korea, her customs, culture and family.

Below is a photo of Jin-Aeng with her first host family.
